Who's Who

Ralf Cook 

Ralf Cook was elected as Chair of the Governing Body on 4th March 2019 having been appointed as a co-opted governor in September 2017. Mr. Cook is the designated Governor for Safeguarding/Child Protection. Ralf volunteers as a hospital chaplain, an advisor with Chelmsford Citizens Advice Bureau and a bus driver with Chelmsford Community Transport. He also holds a leadership role with Chelmsford Salvation Army. Ralf was previously a senior principal with H.M. Revenue and Customs. His term of office finishes on 18/09/2021. Ralf has no other pecuniary interests and does not hold a Governance role in any other school or college.

 

Paul Strong

Paul Strong was elected as Vice Chair of the Governing Body on 4th March 2019,     having been appointed as a Foundation Governor in September 2017. Mr.Strong is the designated Governor for Curriculum and English/History and Geography. Paul is a qualified teacher and a keen musician, this includes playing the organ in his church.

 

Father Stephen Northfield  

Father Stephen Northfield is a Foundation Governor.  Father Stephen is the designated Governor for RE and Collective Worship. He became an ordained minister in the Church of England in 1982 and having served in a number of parishes in or around Chelmsford became incumbent at St Andrews Church, Hatfield Peverel, in 1995. Father Stephen has served on the Governing body since this time.  Apart from Church and school-related work, Father Stephen’s interests are model railways and 18th century music, in particular, the work of George Friderick  Handel. Father Stephen has no other pecuniary interests and does not hold a Governance role in any other school or college.

 

 Chris Streatfeild

Chris Streatfeild joined the Governing Body in September 2019 as an Associate Governor. Mr. Streatfeild is the designated Governor for Health and Safety. Chris has strong links with the school as his daughter who is now starting her Teach First training completed her work experience at St Andrew's. Chris is a STEM ambassador – so is keen to support all aspects of Science: Technology: Engineering: Maths. Chris runs a risk management consultancy with clients across the UK.  He has no pecuniary interests and does not hold a Governance role in any other school or college.

 

Michelle Chasmer

Michelle Chasmer joined the Governing Board in November 2019 as a parent governor.  Mrs Chasmer is the designated Governor responsible for finance, HR and Pupil Premium. Her term of office finishes in November 2022. Michelle has no other pecuniary interests and does not hold a Governance role in any other school or college.

 

Becky Black 

Becky Black was appointed in September 2019 as Headteacher prior to this she was the Deputy Headteacher at St Andrew's from January 2015. Becky has no other pecuniary interests and does not hold a Governance role in any other school or college

 

Vicki Parker  

Vicki Parker joined the Governing Body in June 2019 as a co-opted member. Mrs. Parker is the designated Governor along with Mrs. O'Connor for communication. She is also responsible for Assessment & Data and is the joint designated governor for maths along with Mr. Wallace. She has been a Primary School teacher since 2001 and is currently a supply-teacher. Her interests include exercising, baking and going to football matches. Her term of office finishes in June 2022. Vicki has no other pecuniary interests and does not hold a Governance role in any other school or college.

 

Mr. Basil Wallace

Basil Wallace joined the Governing Board in November 2019 as a parent governor.  His term of office finishes in November 2022. Mr. Wallace is the designated governor for science and also the joint designated governor for maths along with Mrs. Parker. Basil has a daughter in year 4 and a son in year one at the infants school. He recently began work as a Teaching Assistant at a secondary school in Chelmsford based within its SEN department. He is planning to train as a Maths teacher later this year and so this role is giving him some vital classroom experience. His previous career has been in data modelling for UK defence research and a little web development. Basil has no other pecuniary interests and does not hold a Governance role in any other school or college. 

 

Mrs. Hayley Ellen
 

Hayley Ellen joined the Governing Board in July 2020 as a local authority governor.  She is the designated governor for Mental Health and Wellbeing and also Equality and Diversity. Hayley has no other pecuniary interests and does not hold a Governance role in any other school or college. Her term of office finishes in July 2023. Hayley has no other pecuniary interests and does not hold a Governance role in any other school or college.

 

Mrs. Amanda Bright

Amanda Bright joined the Governing Board in September 2020 as a Foundation Governor. Mrs. Bright is the designated governor responsible for SEND, training and supports Father Northfield who is the governor responsible for RE and Collective Worship.

Amanda is recently retired from Ford Credit, Ford's European Bank where she worked for over 30 years in various roles in Operations, Risk, Marketing, Sales and Training. For the last 12 years she was an HR Manager with responsibility for Learning , Development and Compliance. She is also a qualified Mental Health First Aider and previously assisted in running Hatfield Peverel Cub Group. She has lived in Hatfield Peverel for 31 years and has 3 sons all of whom attended Hatfield Peverel Infants and St Andrews. She is also a member of St Andrew's & All Saints P.C.C. Her interests include yoga, gardening and long dog walks!

Her term of office finishes in September 2023. Amanda has no other pecuniary interests and does not hold a Governance role in any other school or college.

 

Mrs. Sophie O'Connor
 

Sophie O'Connor joined the Governing Board in September 2019 as staff governor. Mrs. O'Connor along with Mrs. Parker is the designated Governor for Communication. Sophie joined the St Andrew's team in September 2017. She teaches year 6 and is part of the Senior Leadership Team as well as English subject leader. Sophie rarely has spare time but when she does she enjoys walking her Labrador dog Joey.

Her term of office finishes in September 2022. Sophie has no other pecuniary interests and does not hold a Governance role in any other school or college.

 

Mrs.Rachel Wright
 

Rachel Wright joined the Governing Board in September 2020 as co-opted governor.  Her term of office finishes in September 2023. Mrs. Wright is the designated governor responsible for GDPR and the school website. Rachel has no other pecuniary interests and does not hold a Governance role in any other school or college.
