Ralf Cook 

Ralf Cook was elected as Chair of the Governing Body on 4th March 2019 having been appointed as a co-opted governor in September 2017. Ralf volunteers as a hospital chaplain, an advisor with Chelmsford Citizens Advice Bureau and a bus driver with Chelmsford Community Transport. He also holds a leadership role with Chelmsford Salvation Army. Ralf was previously a senior principal with H.M. Revenue and Customs.  Ralf has a granddaughter who is a pupil at the school. His term of office finishes on 18/09/2021. Ralf has no other pecuniary interests and does not hold a Governance role in any other school or college.

 

Paul Strong  

Paul Strong was elected as Vice Chair of the Governing Body on 4th March 2019. having been appointed as a Foundation Governor in September 2017. Paul is a qualified teacher and a keen musician, this includes playing the organ in his church.  His term of office finishes on 18/09/2021.   Paul has no other pecuniary interests and does not hold a Governance role in any other school or college. 

 

Father Stephen Northfield  

Father Stephen Northfield is a Foundation Governor.  He became an ordained minister in the Church of England in 1982 and having served in a number of parishes in or around Chelmsford became incumbent at St Andrews Church, Hatfield Peverel, in 1995. Father Stephen has served on the Governing body since this time.  Apart from Church and school-related work, Father Stephen’s interests are model railways and 18th century music, in particular, the work of George Friderick  Handel. Father Stephen has no other pecuniary interests and does not hold a Governance role in any other school or college.

 

 Dr. Virginia Craig

Dr. Virginia Craig was appointed to the Governing Board in September 2015 as a community governor and now serves as a co-opted member. Virginia is retired and a director of Provide. Her term of office finishes on 13/09/2019. Virginia has no other pecuniary interests and does not hold a Governance role in any other school or college.

 

Adam Thorpe   

Adam Thorne was appointed as a parent governor in January 2013. Adam is a Head Teacher at a Secondary school in Loughton and before that worked in 4 very successful schools in Essex. In his spare time, Adam teaches Tae Kwondo and self-defence and enjoys mountain biking and going to the gym.  His term of office finishes on 18/09/2018. Adam has no other pecuniary interests. As Head Teacher Adam is an ex-officio Governor at his Secondary school, he does not hold a Governance role in any other school or college.

 

Emma-Jane  Sharrocks

Emma-Jane Sharrocks joined the Governing Board in September 2015 as a parent governor and now serves as a co-opted member.  Her term of office finishes on 18/10/2019. Emma-Jane has no other pecuniary interests and does not hold a Governance role in any other school or college.

 

Graham Slader

Graham Slader is one of our foundation governors and was appointed in September 2015.  He is a Salvation Army Officer and the school's safeguarding governor. His term of office finishes on 07/02/2020.Graham has no other pecuniary interests and does not hold a Governance role in any other school or college.

 

Chris James  

Chris James has been a teacher for over 30 years and Head teacher of St. Andrew’s since 2005. He is a Deacon and part of the Leadership at a local Baptist Church. After the school Chris's second love is Southampton FC closely followed by Doctor Who.  Chris has no other pecuniary interests and does not hold a Governance role in any other school or college.

 

Becky Black  

Becky Black was appointed in January 2015 as the Deputy Headteacher. She is also the staff governor.  Her term of office finishes on 1st September 2021. Becky has no other pecuniary interests and does not hold a Governance role in any other school or college

 

 Mrs J Barclay

Jill Barclay was elected Local Authority Governor on the 1st May 2019. Jill’s volunteering history includes helping children whose first language is not English to read within London primary schools, a school governorship at a primary school also in London as well as mentoring work with young people.  Now semi-retired Jill used to be an Office, Finance and HR Manager for an international firm of architects and more recently worked for UKCP - a membership organisation and charity for psychotherapists

 

Mrs V Parker

Vicki Parker joined the Governing Body in June 2019 as a co-opted member. She has been a Primary School teacher since 2001 and is currently a supply-teacher. Her interests include exercising, baking and going to football matches.
