St Andrew's Junior School Hatfield Peverel

SIAMS Inspection and Visitors

Our Diocese adviser Helen Craig came to visit on the 24th June 2025 and commented:

"It has been a delight to work with the Headteacher and the school. They are a team who clearly live out the school vision even in the height of adversity and challenges that are still ongoing. The Headteacher and the team keep the pupils at the heart of everything they do. This makes St Andrew's such a wonderful school."

When Raj (a member of our local Hindu temple) visited Year 4 recently, he commented:

"Your pupils show remarkable curiosity and depth of understanding. It is clear that they are being nurtured in an environment that fosters not only academic excellence but also a keen interest in cultural and moral values."

SIAMS inspection 2016:

Our last SIAMS inspection was 2016 and we were delighted with the following strengths that the inspector found:

  • The distinctiveness and effectiveness of St Andrew’s as a Church of England school are good.
  • The leaders of the school have established with pupils, staff and governors a set of Christian values which underpin the school’s caring ethos and which impact positively on pupils’ good behaviour.
  • Well planned worship weaves values and themes thoughtfully together and impacts well on pupils’ drawing on Biblical teaching and Christian values.
  • The spiritual, moral and social development of pupils is good. It is well supported throughout the school and appropriately linked to the school’s Christian values.
  • Relationships are strong and mutually supportive and are a clear expression of the school’s Christian ethos.
