Outdoor Learning

We have a beautiful Outdoor Learning area called the Nature Base within our school grounds. Each half-term, different year groups spend their afternoons learning outdoors with our deputy headteacher, Mrs Dutaut.

They spend this time developing their communication skills, negotiation and teamwork, all crucial life-skills! Each session links to the national curriculum, providing experiential learning in a practical and outdoor environment. Research shows that outdoor learning has many positive implications for our children's mental health, behaviour and engagement with learning - and we are already seeing these positive impacts.

As a school community we have been incredibly lucky and are so appreciative of the amazing project that has been led by Bellway Homes and their associates to revamp our Outdoor Learning area.

Special thank you also to two of our JSA members, Mrs Chasmer and Mrs Winwood, who wrote to Bellway and secured their kind support to make this happen.
