Y6 Explorer Visit
On Tuesday 4th June, Year 6 were proud to welcome back Al Sylvester MBE - a real-life Antarctic explorer!
Al spent the whole day with the year group and shared his exceptional story - one of highs and lows. He discussed his expedition - his fears and his triumphs. It was the perfect link into the second part of their Explorer topic based around the class novel ‘Shackleton’s Journey’.
Woven into the day-long workshop were the themes of mental resilience, dealing with hardship and overcoming adversity.
Al took the time to praise the children for their fabulous questions and complemented them on their wonderful manners - we’re so proud!
