Y3 Bee Visit

On Tuesday, Year 3 were very lucky to be visited by Ian Grant from Chelmsford Beekeepers. Although we knew a lot about bees already from our reading and English lessons, we discovered so much more! Did you know that a bee travels 55,000 miles to produce just 1/12 of a teaspoon of honey in it’s lifetime? It’s astonishing!

During the visit, we had the chance to put on special glasses to see what the world looks like from a bee’s perspective. Some of our classmates even got to wear a beekeeper outfit, which was a fantastic experience! To top it all off, we all enjoyed tasting the delicious honey that Ian brought along.

If your child has caught ‘the buzz’ about bees, why not visit Oaklands Museum Beehive on Moulsham Street in Chelmsford?
